Contact Form 7
Use the FormStatus companion plugin when monitoring Contact Form 7 on WordPress.
Set up a test
Section titled “Set up a test”- Install and activate the companion plugin.
- Add the public form page and select the correct form.
- Set valid test values for fields with special requirements.
- Enable email testing if you want notification delivery checked, then run a manual test.
Contact Form 7 submission and email checks
Section titled “Contact Form 7 submission and email checks”The companion integration reports Contact Form 7 validation errors and its mail-sent or mail-failed result. If a test fails before email is sent, inspect the field validation errors first. If submission passes but the email check fails, investigate mail delivery separately.
Contact Form 7 normally submits with AJAX. Keep the form’s existing submission method when setting up monitoring; a test does not require you to change it.
CAPTCHA and add-ons
Section titled “CAPTCHA and add-ons”For recognized test requests, the integration includes handling for Contact Form 7 CAPTCHA validation and reCAPTCHA verification. Required-field errors still need valid test values. A third-party CAPTCHA or honeypot add-on can behave differently, so review the recording if a challenge remains.
Multi-page and conditional workflows added by other plugins need to be tested with those add-ons active. Use a recording of the complete path rather than assuming a basic Contact Form 7 test covers every additional step. Test data may still reach external entry-storage or automation add-ons.
For a complex workflow, make a recording and maintain its custom steps. Review the individual check results and available recording after each change.
