Troubleshoot a failed test
Start with the failed test’s details. Identify whether the problem occurred while loading the page, submitting the form, or receiving email.
Check the form yourself
Section titled “Check the form yourself”Open the public form page in a browser. Confirm that it loads over HTTPS, accepts the required fields, and displays a success message or redirect after submission.
If the form also fails manually, investigate the website or form configuration.
Check email settings
Section titled “Check email settings”If submission succeeds but email is missing:
- Confirm that the form’s notification is enabled.
- Check its recipient and conditional notification rules.
- Review your WordPress email delivery settings and available delivery logs.
Review recent changes
Section titled “Review recent changes”Check for changes to form fields, validation rules, plugins, themes, caching, or site security. Update any test field overrides that no longer match the form.
Test again
Section titled “Test again”Run a manual FormStatus test after making a change. Review the new report to confirm the affected check passes.
If the problem continues, contact support@formstatus.co with the form URL and relevant test details.
